“If only, if only, the woodpecker sighs…” (Louis Sachar)
How many times have we not done something because we were worried what someone else would think or if you might fail—even though you are completely eager to share or experience it?
The thoughts often haunt us. One year later, what would anyone remember? Or where might I be on my life path if I failed? What opportunity may have opened up if I hadn’t held back?
“If only, if only…”
Do you ever think that striving for perfection is exhausting? I am willing to bet the answer is a resounding “Yes!”
Let’s stop for a moment and breathe. Ponder what truly would happen if…? Is something better than nothing? Oh, goodness, yes! Think of all the life you are missing by waiting.
By self-protecting and playing it safe, you are actually stunting your own growth and the experiences that would lead you (and those around you) to a more joyous life.
Trust me, everyone has their own bubble and challenges to carry, and they honestly do not have enough time or energy to over analyze what you are doing. And, if they do—well, that is another discussion about assertiveness and boundaries.
… So what is the trick to living your fabulous life?
Leave the fear behind and embrace the notion that living “imperfectly perfect” is the way to go. There will never be a perfect moment. Right now is your imperfectly perfect moment to surrender to your passions.
You have the power to decide within you. Stop holding your arms around yourself in protection, open up your arms, your heart, and your smile. Be humble and ask for help when you need it, don’t be shy. A dream spoken out loud is already halfway there.
Life opens up when you do!
